Cobwebs in the corner,
Sketches on the walls,
Mismatched socks in shoes and
Open book on bean bag chair.
Sharpies scattered on the floor,
Music paused in the stereo,
Pens and pencils in a jar next to
Scales left on the stand.
Snapshot memories on a cluttered desk,
Calendar a week behind,
Closet light left on and yet
Bed still made, untouched.
Wrinkled sweater discarded in the corner,
Met by the dead face of a blank T.V.
Papau beads hang forgotten and
Alarm still set for five a.m.
Party invitation taped to an open door,
Calico hiding under the bed,
Snoop and Inkwell lie on crammed shelves,
Writer’s journal left out on a desk,
Open to a page that begins
“Cobwebs in the corner,”
